Stain inhibitors for paint and coating formulations

We provide products specially formulated for coatings applied over staining woods such as cedar and redwood. They help preventing the bleed-through and discolouration that tannin can cause. The tannin inhibitors are based on two types of chemistry: the long-established method that forms colourless, insoluble tannates in water-based coatings to prevent discolouration, and the new approach that chelates the metal ions in water-based coatings and in this way prevent tannins from precipitating out to discolour the surface.
