We provide Struktol antifoam agents for biogas production that are well balanced between destruction of foam, prevention of foam and helping degassing the highly viscous digester content.
Biogas is produced during the anaerobic fermentation of organic material such as specifically grown energy plants, previous unused parts of plants, liquid manure, wastewater sludge and other bio-waste. The organic materials are biodegraded by microorganisms into biogas which is a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide. Foam is generated due to foam promoting substances such as carbohydrates, sugars, methane, carbon dioxide and proteins in the digester. Without antifoaming agents, the digester would overflow. Our range of antifoam agents are specifically optimal for use during biogas production. The addition point and addition rates are significant and depend on several factors and must be found out by trials. A good distribution of defoamers in the digester is also important.
