We supply MCT oil and glycerine to serve as excipients for pharmaceutical formulations. Sourced from palm oil and coconut, these products are characterised in that they offer multiple functions and can work as an emollient agent, a lubricant, humectant and solvent. Feel free to contact us for further information about specific products and for other requests.
We offer a range of PALMESTER Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, also known as MCT (Medium Chain Triglyceride) oil as excipient for pharmaceutical products. It is a biolubricant derived from renewable natural raw materials such as palm or coconut oil. MCT oil is a clear and colourless liquid, neutral in odour and taste. It is fully saturated and therefore highly resistant to oxidation. It is a multifunctional agent that among other things acts as an emollient agent and lubricant.
MCT oil is an excellent excipient for manufacturing softgel capsules. It helps to seal the surface and adds a shine to the capsules. It also prevents the capsules from sticking together and promotes dissolving of the active substances. For production of tablets, MTC oil helps decreasing the friction between the die wall and granules as the tablet is formed and ejected. This reduces the ejection force and help to ensure that the tablets are cleanly ejected without cracking or breakage.
We supply a range of 100% natural and high-quality glycerine based on sustainable palm oil as excipients for pharmaceutical formulations. Glycerine is a sugar-alcohol that is non-toxic, hygroscopic, colourless, odourless, and sweet-tasting viscous liquid. This highly versatile and multifunctional agent can act as a humectant and solvent.
Glycerine is a natural-occurring humectant with three hydroxyl groups that helps keeping substances moist. The hydroxyl groups make it hydrophilic (polar) and water-soluble. In addition, glycerine can dissolve lipophilic (nonpolar) substances such as oil.
In pharma applications, glycerine is used as a holding agent for tablets, and for production of softgel capsules. It is also often used as a solubiliser, lubricant, plasticiser, moisturising and preserving agent in many topical and systemic medications such as capsules, cough syrups, ear drops, emulsions, enzymes, eye drops, inhalation aerosols, injections, lozenges, medical chewing gums, ointments, parenteral nutrition, suppositories, etc.
