Thickeners, stabilisers & texturing agents for topical formulations

SEPINEO™ D.E.R.M. is an innovative polymer (Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer) with thickening, stabilising and texturizing properties. It is a concentrated polymer in ready-to-use powder form. It is pre-neutralized and does not need a neutralization step before use. It is stable over a wide pH range (3 to 12). Furthermore, it is dispersible in aqueous or fatty phases and can be mixed equally well in hot or cold process.

SEPINEO™ D.E.R.M. has strong oil-stabilising properties and is efficient at low concentration:

• 0.2% – 0.3% for emulsifying and stabilising action
• 0.3% – 3% for thickening action.

SEPINEO™ P 600 is a 3-in-1 polymer which thickens, emulsifies and stabilises pharmaceutical formulations making the formulation process easy and flexible. Thanks to its liquid form, it is easy to implement, and no neutralization or rehydration steps is required when developing new gels, creams, simple or multiple emulsions.

This excellent thickener is stable over a wide range of pH (3-11) and compatible with polar solvents such as ethanol, propylene glycol, glycerine, and with many active ingredients. Synergistic effects can be obtained with other pharmaceutical thickeners.

SEPINEO™ P 600 stabilises all types of oils without any addition of surfactants. It can be used to formulate cream-gel up to 35-40% fatty phase and improves the stability of all types of O/W emulsions from as little as 0.5%. In addition, it improves the texture and sensory profile of the formulation with a dosage from only 0.2% and it provides a product that is easy to spread. Recommended quantity in formula ranges from 0.2% to 5%.

SEPINEO™ P 600 is composed of Acrylamide/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer/Isohexadecane & Polysorbate 80.

SEPINEO™ PHD 100 is a polymer (Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6) in powder form. It is especially designed for formulation of drugs and medical devices for topical, vaginal, rectal, and gingival applications. It provides clear aqueous gels with an excellent sensory profile.

Being an associative polymer combining polyelectrolytic repulsions and hydrophobic groups, this dual mechanism gives formulations exceptional stability, especially under stressful conditions. It allows you to add up to 10% electrolytes without the loss of viscosity. Furthermore, the robust polymer network allows formulations with high API loads, ionic APIs and API combinations (e.g. Betamethasone/Salicylic acid).

SEPINEO™ PHD 100 is stable at pH (2-8) and can stabilise up to 20% oil formulations without addition of surfactant. Moreover, it has a high thickening power of solvents and propenetrants such as ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, PEG-400.
