Dry solubilisers for solid oral formulations

SEPITRAP™ is a micro-encapsulated solubiliser in powder form specially designed for simplifying the manufacturing of solid oral dosage forms such as tablets and capsules. It is both a solid solubilizer and a compression agent that helps to improve bioavailability of the active ingredients (API), which makes it perfect for solid dosage forms involving APIs with low solubility. SEPITRAP™ can even be used in direct compression procedures without impacting the hardness and disintegration of the formed tablets.

The SEPITRAP™ is manufactured by absorption of the solubiliser in liquid form on a porous mineral carrier. The technology which is patented – is shown in the figure.

The SEPITRAP™ range consists of two solubilisers with different surfactants:

• SEPITRAP™ 80:
  – Surfactant: Polysorbate 80 (45-65%),
  – Porous mineral carrier: Magnesium Aluminometasilicate (35-55%)
• SEPITRAP™ 4000:
  – Surfactant: Polyoxyl 40 hydrogenated castor oil (55-75%)
  – Porous mineral carrier: Magnesium Aluminometasilicate (25-45%)

All the components of SEPITRAP™ comply with USP-NF. SEPITRAP™ is manufactured in accordance with IPEC GMP standards and is certified EXCiPACT.
