Sugar & carbohydrate ingredients

Carbohydrate ingredients for sweetness, functionality and nutritional performance

We supply sugars and speciality carbohydrates that provide different combinations of sweetness, processing functionality and nutritional properties.

D-xylose

D-xylose is a naturally occurring pentose and reducing sugar with mild sweetness, providing approx. 60% of the sweetness of sucrose and an energy value of 4 kcal/g. Its high reactivity in Maillard reactions makes it particularly suitable for flavour development and browning in savoury foods, meat alternatives and bakery applications.

PALATINOSE™ isomaltulose

PALATINOSE™ isomaltulose is a naturally sourced, fully digestible functional carbohydrate that provides 4 kcal/g and approximately 50% of the sweetness of sucrose. It can replace sucrose on a 1:1 weight basis in many formulations when a milder sweetness is desired. PALATINOSE™ is digested more slowly than conventional sugars and has a low glycaemic profile, providing a more gradual and sustained supply of carbohydrate energy. Its mild, natural sweetness and clean taste make it particularly relevant to sports nutrition, energy products, functional foods and beverages, and specialised nutrition.
