PA6 developed for demanding MuCell applications in e-mobility

Engineering plastics for future mobility

For manufacturers of e-mobility components, lightweighting often has to be achieved without compromising electrical performance, part complexity or production efficiency.

Epsan’s Eplamid 6 EF SP is a PA6 engineering plastic developed with these requirements in mind. It combines electrical insulation performance with high flowability, making it particularly relevant for MuCell® applications involving complex geometries and thin-wall designs

Material performance matters in MuCell® processing

MuCell® can support lower component weight and shorter cycle times, but the material still has to perform reliably throughout the mould-filling process.

The high flow of Eplamid 6 EF SP supports the filling of complex cavities and thin sections, helping manufacturers work with demanding component designs while taking advantage of the weight-saving potential of microcellular injection moulding.

For e-mobility applications, the material also provides the electrical insulation properties required in components where electrical performance is an important design parameter.

The result is a material and process combination that can support:

  • lower component weight
  • thin-wall and complex part designs
  • efficient mould filling
  • shorter production cycles
  • electrical insulation requirements in e-mobility applications
Developed with the application in mind

Before a formulation moves into production, Epsan evaluates it at its Technological & Innovation Center through material testing and application-focused validation.

This approach helps ensure that material performance is considered not only at datasheet level, but also in relation to processing conditions and the intended component.

At Alsiano, we work with material selection from an application perspective. Together with Epsan, we can help assess whether Eplamid 6 EF SP is a relevant option for your MuCell® component and processing requirements.
