DAVOSLIFE E3 contains a complete spectrum of Tocotrienol isomers and αlpha-tocopherol with an optimal ratio working synergistically for health and wellness
Natural vitamin E is made up of four isomers of Tocotrienols (α, β, γ and δ) and four isomers of Tocopherols (α, β, γ and δ). Natural vitamin E is found in plant seeds where it protects the seeds from oxidation and UV damage. Whereas most seeds contain only α-tocopherol and a few contain both forms, the palm fruit is a unique source of Tocotrienols having a ratio of total Tocotrienols to α-tocopherol perfectly balanced by nature which gives distinctive health and skin benefits.
DAVOSLIFE E3 Tocotrienols from Davos Life Science contain a complete spectrum of all natural Tocotrienols – also known as Tocotrienol Rich Fraction (TRF) – and are derived from non-GMO palm fruits sourced directly from RSPO-certified plantations.
Tocotrienols for neuroprotection and cognitive health
Oxidation, inflammation, and toxicity from normal brain cell activity are all involved in the progression of cognitive decline. Studies have shown that Tocotrienol-Rich Fraction (TRF) supplementation protects from free-radical-induced brain cell death. It also reduces DNA damage in brain cells and improves the performance on various cognitive tests such as mazes and swimming challenges (1). Furthermore, studies have shown that it reduces the number of white matter lesions (WML) whilst the placebo-controlled showed increasing incidence of WML (2). WMLs are signs of cerebral small vessel disease, reflecting varying degrees of neurodegeneration and tissue damage.
Skin care and protection with vitamin E
The skin is particularly prone to the harmful effects of oxidation (3). As we grow older, it is normal for our skin to lose its elasticity. A big part of this premature skin aging is due to free radical activity from UV rays, air pollution and natural the aging process. Natural antioxidant ingredients such as vitamin E Tocotrienols are proven to protect cell membranes, active enzyme sites and DNA from free radical damage, and can therefore delay signs of aging including appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Tests of a formulation with DAVOSLIFE E3 have shown a reduction by 76% of free radical production in the skin after exposure to harmful UVA and UVB rays (4).
Tocotrienols for skin lightening
Tocotrienols promote skin lightening by two actions: First, they inhibit the enzyme tyrosinase production, hence reducing the amount of melanin produced (5). Second, they increase the breakdown of melanin so that the melanin pigments can be removed (6). Tocotrienols are better than Tocopherols at combating oxidative stress of skin that is exposed to UV rays.
