Self-tanning / DHA

The VEGETAN™ range holds a line of self-tanning pure dihydroxyacetone (DHA) obtained by fermentation, and a variant based on erythrulose which possesses the same properties as DHA. The VEGETAN™ DHA ingredients provide a natural sunless tan. The sun tanning effect is due to coloring of the upper layer of the epidermis. VEGETAN™ reacts with the amines, peptides, and amino acids of the horny layers, and through a Maillard reaction brown melanoidins are generated. The DHA is produced by a green eco-responsible process and is based on renewable vegetable raw materials.

The VEGETAN™ range comprises:

VEGETAN™ – powder version

• Based on DHA.
• Powder form, preservation-free, water-soluble.
• Natural and water-resistant.
• Fast and long lasting: works in a few hours and lasts more than 3-7 days.
• Light, medium, and dark tanning shade. Skin coloration is proportional to the number of applications and concentration of DHA.
• The tan will fade as the dead cells of the upper layer of epidermis flake off.

VEGETAN™ FL – liquid form:

• Based on DHA and as efficient as VEGETAN™, but in liquid form.
  Not coloured, preservation-free.
• Easy to incorporate in the emulsion hydrophilic phase

VEGETAN™ Evolve  longer tanning effect: 

• Based on erythrulose that has a longer tanning effect.
• Powder form, preservation-free, hydrosoluble.

VEGETAN™ Gold – oil compatible DHA

• Based on DHA and through a new technology formulated into a microemulsion that makes it a “ready-to-use in oil” DHA
• Liquid form, preservation-free, clear, yellow to brown coloured, liposoluble.
• Compatible with a range of surfactants, oils, and esters.
• Brings a high and long-lasting healthy skin glow.
• Especially applicable to oil-soluble self-tanners and SPF tanning sun oils

VEGETAN™ Premium Plus – Natural and quicker skin tanner

• Based on a combination of DHA and melanin that further improves the skin colouration.
• The melanin protects DNA from oxidative damage.
• In vivo test has shown that VEGETAN ™ Premium Plus improves colour intensity and increases speed of colouration compared to DHA/Erythrulose.
• Preservation-free, water-soluble powder.
