Burnt sugar is a liquid or solid caramel with a colour varying from light to dark brown, obtained exclusively through the controlled action of heat on edible sugars. Used for flavour and/or colour foodstuffs.
Our burnt sugars comply with the AFNOR NFV00-100 definition of “Aromatic Caramel” and with that of Caramel Colour E150a in European Directives 231/2012 and 1333/2008.
