Efficient cleaning of thermoplastic processing machinery for leftover resin and other contaminants that build up on the interior is important to ensure a good product quality and to reduce downtime and scrap rate, this way saving money and raw materials.
Ramclean®, a new generation of products, is a line of chemical purges and mechanical purges that allows you to run an effective production:
Chemical purges use foaming agent to get the purging process as efficient as possible as well as cleaning negative flow areas. The foaming agents are used to enhance the purge as well as to clean hard-to-reach/negative flow areas. Soaking (stopping the screw) is needed and popping noises will accrue as a part of normal purging protocol.
Mechanical purges rely on shear force and viscosity along with additives and fillers to clean the machinery. When using mechanical purges no soaking is required (keeping it still in the barrel) and it does not create popping sounds as part of the process.
